5-HIAA

5-HIAA was traditionally assayed by diazotization with nitrosonaptol to form purple color. However, it is well documented that many other substances present in the urine interfere with this reaction to give false-positive results. Other methods, however show a lack of sensitivity, are time consuming, or they require solvent. We do it differnetly!
