Metanephrines

Metanephrine and Normetanephrine are physiologically formed from the catecholamines norepinephrine and epinephrine by the enzyme catechol-O-methyltransferase (COMT). Increased levels of normetanephrine and metanephrine can be found in patients suffering from pheochromocytoma, ganglioneuroma and other neurogenic tumors.
